VALLEY
VALLEY returns with the new track “Closer To The Picture"
from debut album 'Maybe'.
VALLEY wrote and self-produced the acclaimed 2016 EP 'This Room Is White', amassing over 10 million streams, as well as garnering radio and TV placements for indie pop hit “Swim”. Now VALLEY is back with the lead single “Closer To The Picture,” off their major label debut album 'Maybe'.
“Closer To The Picture,” written and produced by Valley in collaboration with Andy Seltzer (Maggie Rogers, Tor Miller, Penguin Prison), deals with the cycle of anxiety and self-reflection
inherent in the deafening digital noise of 21st century living.
The concept revolves around putting the audience in the shoes of the introvert of the party.
The kind of person who hangs out in the corner with the dog while others are getting drunk and making fools of themselves.
Many of the visual references came from films set in the early 2000’s like Perks of Being a Wallflower, Lady Bird and The Rules of Attraction.
VALLEY is a pop band from Toronto whose ambitions are even bigger than their sound. Forged from two bands who were accidentally double-booked for studio time, the born-and-raised Canadians seized the opportunity in disguise and began developing what would ultimately become one of the most refreshing, engaging, and promising new bands of the decade.
