TR/ST has premiered the new video for “Gone”, the soaring electronic pop first single from his new LP 'The Destroyer - 1' out now on Grouch/House Arrest.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jordan Hemingway, the visual accompaniment to "Gone" is bursting with vivid colours and lens flare around TR/ST mainman Robert Alfons' dramatic and dark to camera performance.
Over to Jordan Hemingway about the making of the video:
"Shot in a cavern in the hills of Los Angeles, the music video for "Gone" is a visual homage to an era of music videos I grew up to. The jarring angles and visuals mixed with vivid color are meant to match the haunting
vocals that sit beautifully over an upbeat sound."
Robert Alfons adds:
"Filmed over the course of one weekend, I think Jordan did a fantastic job capturing the feeling of desperation and shame in this intimate video."
"Gone"'s classic 80s electronic pop was co-written & co-produced by TR/ST's frequent collaborator Maya Postepski. As well as being one of the standout tracks of the current record, "Gone" has been creating a big moment in TR/ST's live set too.
Currently half way through an extensive world tour that's taken in sold-out shows to the TR/ST devoted in London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and Copenhagen, TR/ST kicked off the North American leg last Friday with a jubilant homecoming show and Swedish popstar ionnalee supporting at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto.
The North American tour goes through June, with TR/ST performing at Semana IR in Mexico City on 7th June and Austin Terror Festival on 8th June. Fans are clearly happy to have TR/ST back with sold out shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York.
TR/ST originally announced 'The Destroyer -1' on Billboard, along with first single "Gone". '
The Destroyer,' TR/ST's much anticipated third album, is releasing in two parts,
'Destroyer - 1' and 'Destroyer - 2.'
The project is one body of music but will be distributed as two distinct offerings, different sides of the same coin. The first LP came out mid-April with the second 8 track instalment coming in November 2019. It follows the two previous records, 2012's self-titled release and 2014's
'Joyland'.
