Her perception of the world is a little different from what an ordinary person can imagine. Her point of view touches the stars, enters the detail and moves between reality and a magical world. And although she is from earth, she reaches beyond what this simple limit conditions us. Simplicity and beauty are two key points of her work, two points that gently embrace you with their delicacy and invite you into the artistic creation of the artist. There are people who say that paradise is in the sky, but we believe that it is here on earth and part of it is hidden in the paintings of Nani Serrano.

Su percepción del mundo es un poco diferente de lo que una persona ordinaria se puede imaginar. Su punto de vista toca las estrellas, entra en el detalle y se mueve entre realidad y un mundo mágico. Y aunque es de la tierra, ella llega más allá de lo que este simple límite nos condiciona. Sencillez y belleza son dos puntos clave de su trabajo, dos puntos que te abrazan suavemente con su delicadeza y te invitan en la creación artística de la artista. Hay gente que dice que el paraíso está en el cielo, pero nosotros creemos que está aquí en la tierra y parte de el se esconde en las pinturas de Nani Serrano.
Bizzarre: Nani Serrano, what brought you here?
NS: Be constant in my work, enjoy painting and want to improve my technique.
B: In your works we see the feminine appearance with a lot of beauty, softness and finesse. How do you see the role of women today?
NS: In my works I don't reflect current, political and social issues. I just get carried away by my personal concerns. Although yes, in a certain way the spirit of the woman feels beautiful, soft and delicate, which is complemented by her current role, a woman of great strength, active and autonomous. That is a great contribution to build a new, more pluralistic society, without gender competences to simply complement each other.
B: "Bellas Durmientes" is your last expo. What are the stories that most inspire you behind your work?
NS: I am inspired by the paintings of the history of ancient art, from the Renaissance to Romanticism. I am interested in the charm of classic and serene beauty, the fine sensuality of the nudes in this time of the past. I admire the taste for the refined, intimate and delicate of classical painting.
In my works the nude is very relevant although it has a very subtle reading. It is a seduction of the senses through sweet translucent tones that reveal a semi-nude veiled and suggestive. I look for the balance between beauty and lightness. The poses are always relaxed.
In "Sleeping Beauties", in addition to the classical inspiration, there is a contemporaneity, I am interested in the subject of the lucid dream relating it to death. The last sigh of eternal sleep, let yourself die. I wanted to capture the silence of this trance wrapped in a dreamlike atmosphere.
B: There's nothing more exciting than a life...
NS: ...with infinite possibilities for each purpose.
B: How do you imagine the artistic world without the market?
NS: More just and coherent. With much more diversity and less elitist.
B: Each person has a different perception of the world. Which is yours?
NS: My perception of the world is very encouraging despite what I can perceive from outside.
I pay close attention to the details that matter most to me. I am attentive with my five senses or more to the beautiful things that surround me, and if I don't have them I can imagine them, I look for them or visualize them. If I'm taking a walk, everything is attention. The flowers, the different aromas of the breeze in nature, the temperature, the colors and contrasts, my steps, the sounds and also the silence. Finding pareidolias in my path, in the sky, the ground and the shadows, seems fun to me.
I prefer to simplify things, I look for time to take care of myself. I also have my gray days like everyone else, but I accept it as a natural thing of being and let it go.
B: Women are your main characters. What attracts you the most to paint women and not men?
NS: The representation of the female figure prioritizes in my paintings, perhaps because I have idealized the woman. Most of them seem interesting and mysterious. I think that women have a more creative and suggestive personality than men. Her sensitivity for beautiful and aesthetic details. The sinuosity of their corporal forms makes them unique. I am interested in the seduction that women have in an innate way. The pleasure of adorning your body with beautiful and capricious fabrics, jewelry, details that are more prominent in the feminine.
B: If you had to choose a song to present your art, what would it be?
NS: "I Lie" by David Lang.
B: How do you see the evolution of art?
MB: I see it with many changes and new technological advances, artificial intelligence and virtual workspaces. I think that new artistic expressions will appear. I think that what is to come can be unimaginable for the art world.
B: What advice would you give to a person who starts to dedicate himself to art now?
MB: I would tell him to use his intuition. Insist and be constant at work, to find your own essence. A lot of patience and not getting discouraged by adversity.

Bizzarre: Nani Serrano, ¿qué te ha llevado hasta aquí?
NS: Ser constante en mi trabajo, disfrutar pintando y querer mejorar mi técnica.
B: En tus obras vemos la apariencia femenina con mucha belleza, suavidad y fineza. ¿Cómo ves el rol de la mujer de hoy en día?
NS: En mis obras no reflejo temas de actualidad, política y social. Simplemente me dejo llevar por mis inquietudes personales. Aunque sí, en cierto modo el espíritu de la mujer lo siento hermoso, suave y delicado, que se complementa con su rol actual, una mujer de gran fortaleza, activa y autónoma. Que es un gran aporte para construir una nueva sociedad más pluralista, sin competencias de genero para simplemente complementarse.
B: "Bellas Durmientes" es tu última expo. ¿Cuáles son las historia que más te inspiran detrás de tu trabajo?
NS: Me inspiran las pinturas de la historia del arte antiguo, desde el renacimiento hasta el romanticismo. Me interesa el encanto de la belleza clásica y serena, la fina sensualidad de los desnudos en esta época del pasado. Admiro el gusto por lo refinado, íntimo y delicado de la pintura clásica.
En mis obras el desnudo es muy relevante aunque tiene una lectura muy sutil. Es una seducción de los sentidos a través de dulces tonos translucidos que dejan ver un semidesnudo velado y sugerente. Busco el equilibrio entre belleza y liviandad. Las poses siempre son relajadas.
En “Bellas durmientes”, además de la inspiración clásica, hay una contemporaneidad, me interesa el tema del sueño lucido relacionándolo con la muerte. El último suspiro del sueño eterno, dejarse morir. Quería captar el silencio de este trance envuelto en una atmósfera onírica.
B: No hay nada más emocionante que una vida...
NS: …con infinitas posibilidades para cada propósito.
B: ¿Cómo te imaginas el mundo artístico sin el mercado?
NS: Más justo y coherente. Con mucha más diversidad y menos elitista.
B: Cada persona tiene una percepción del mundo diferente. ¿Cuál es la tuya?
NS: Mi percepción del mundo es muy alentadora pese a lo que pueda percibir del exterior.
Pongo mucha atención a los detalles que más me importan. Estoy atenta con mis cinco sentidos o más a las cosas hermosas que me rodean, y si no las tengo me las imagino, las busco o visualizo. Si estoy dando un paseo, todo es atención. Las flores, los diferentes aromas de la brisa en la naturaleza, la temperatura, los colores y contrastes, mis pasos, los sonidos y también el silencio. Encontrar pareidolias a mi paso, en el cielo, el suelo y las sombras, me parece divertido.
Prefiero simplificar las cosas, busco tiempo para cuidarme. También tengo mis días grises como todo el mundo, pero lo acepto como cosa natural del ser y lo dejo pasar.
B: Las mujeres son tus personajes principales. ¿Qué es lo que más te atrae para pintar mujeres y no hombres?
NS: La representación de la figura femenina prioriza en mis pinturas, quizás porque tengo a la mujer idealizada. En su mayoría me parecen interesantes y misteriosas. Pienso que la mujer posee una personalidad más creativa y sugestiva que el hombre. Su sensibilidad por los detalles bonitos y estéticos. La sinuosidad de sus formas corporales las hace únicas. Me interesa el manejo de la seducción que la mujer tiene de forma innata. El gusto de adornar su cuerpo con tejidos bonitos y caprichosos, joyas, detalles que son más destacados en lo femenino.
B: Si tenías que elegir una canción para presentar tu arte, ¿cuál sería?
NS: “I Lie” de David Lang.
B: ¿Cómo ves la evolución del arte?
NS: Lo veo con muchos cambios y nuevos avances tecnológicos, inteligencia artificial y espacios de trabajo virtuales. Creo que aparecerán nuevas expresiones artísticas. Pienso que lo que está por llegar puede ser inimaginable para el mundo del arte.
B: ¿Qué consejos darías a una persona que empieza a dedicarse al arte ahora?
NS: Le diría que use su intuición. Insistir y ser constante en el trabajo, para encontrar su propia esencia. Mucha paciencia y no desanimarse con las adversidades.
