LEAONE
LEAONE returns from the Bohemian Ghetto with his new single
Prairie Fires.
From one east coast to another, rising talent LEAONE (pronounced ‘Lee-own’) returns to Suffolk after living in the Bohemian Ghetto that is Bushwick.
A trip, made possible with grateful support from the Arts Council England’s International Development fund, in which Leaone found himself working from Transmitter Park Studios in Brooklyn New York, alongside multi-instrumentalist and producer Tom Marsh
(of Lana Del Rey’s band) and Abe Seiferth (Yeasayer, Bears In Heaven,
James Murphy), on a body of new material.
Leaone’s first new offering from the ‘Brooklyn Sessions’ is the rousing new single ‘Prairie Fires, a song full of burning desire and blazing emotion, written at a time when he had to leave behind
a blossoming romance.
The new material follows on from the solemn grandeur of his first EP’s ‘Oh, My Sweetest Sin’ and ‘Wild Horse, Ride On’, which brought him radio support from Steve Lamacq, Jo Whiley,
Huw Stephens, Chris Hawkins and both BBC Introducing Norfolk AND Suffolk.
Whilst Leaone’s fan favourite ‘Goldtooth’, can be heard in upcoming USA romantic comedy movie ‘The Divorce Party’. Starring Claire Holt, it hits cinemas in the USA this February.
Intriguingly when asked why music was important, the ever elusive Leaone replied: “Because it helps to contain my madness”. Something quietly sensational this way comes…
