EYESORE & THE JINX

Liverpool trio EYESORE & THE JINX rail against right-wing hate-mongering on furious new single "Swill".

Turning their gaze and ire towards moral panic conjured up by right-wing press, Liverpool trio Eyesore & The Jinx’s latest highly charged single Swill

is as exhilarating as ever.

Produced by Daniel Fox of Girl Band alongside Matthew Freeman of Birkenhead’s Fresh Goods Studio, its panicky drums and bass shuffle the track forward whilst vocalist

Josh Miller barks defiant resistance to the insidious scare-mongering platitudes of

nefarious ‘broadcasters of misplaced hate’.

As Josh puts it:
“‘Swill’ is a three minute and thirty-nine second love song dedicated to the odious, perpetrators of moral panic, in all of its

loathsome forms.”

They are surrounded by likeminded musicians in a burgeoning Merseyside scene, fostered by label/collective Eggy Records – there’s a messy, organic feel to this supportive community. This belies the precision and clarity with which one of the scene’s chief proponents

deliver invigorating and sardonic post-punk, drawing chiefly from stateside punk

and hardcore influences Meat Puppets, The DeadKennedy’s, Husker Du and

Black Flag. More contemporary inspiration comes from Bad Breeding and Protomartyr. From these local foundations their sphere of influence is

quickly expanding.

Previous release On An Island was produced by Jonathan Hartley from iconic Liverpool psych-surgeons Clinic. This pedigree has seen the band claim national attention -

Steve Lamacq played On An Island six days in a row on his show, followed by a

Roundtable win and a slot at BBC 6 Music’s Festival Fringe in Liverpool.

Alongside this the trio have built up a community of support across the Northwest appearing at a number of festivals in 2018, alongside shows with Protomartyr, Duds,

Downtown Boys and more.

They were also recently awarded a PRS Foundation Momentum Accelerator grant, in conjunction with the Liverpool City Council.

The band are made up of Josh Miller (Vocals/Bass),  Liam Bates (guitar),  Eoghan Robinson (Drums), and their new single Swill is out via

Eggy Records (Wild Fruit Art Collective, Beija Flo) on April 24th.
