CEDIE JANSON
VIDEO PREMIERE
Inertia
Electronic musician & producer, Cedie Janson, just released his second EP, Stillness.
This independent release is a follow up to his 2015 work, Light Curve (Lost Race Records).
Janson is an Australian musician, now based in LA.
His music blurs the line between ambient, noise and experimental dance music.
The five track EP uniquely meditates and contemplates the concept of stillness; its slow
burning intensity broods with an icy coldness.
Inertia provides a cathartic ending to the release featuring improvised vocals from avant jazz
musician Amirtha Kidadmi and features an accompanying video directed by Megan Cullen
and features dance and choreography from Ziara Smith and Jamal Wade, exploring the space that exists between tension and flow. It was shot inside the Amboy Crater, an extinct volcano in the Mojave desert..
Janson has also work on a number of short films scores, including the abstract A/V
collaboration Machine, which premiered at the Arizona Underground Film Festival in 2016
and the sci-fi short The Narrow World from last year.
Stillness is now available digitally and on silkscreen printed
cassette through Bandcamp here.
Stillness was mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri at Black Knoll Studios.
