BRUSQUE TWINS
Brusque Twins release on February 14 their new video "Angel" directed by Rocky Hamilton.
Brusque Twins is Hollie Hensman and Derek Evan George. The duo started working with
synths and software after moving to Montreal in 2009. In 2011, they had released several
tracks online that received international attention from music blogs. The same year, they released their first EP Cliff Dweller on local label Visage Musique, which
they co-founded, and began playing live shows in the burgeoning
Montreal synth scene.
A mini album A Voice In The Night was released the following year. BT played festivals in Montreal and select dates in Toronto & NYC. They opened for bands Black Marble, Kontravoid, Soft Metals as well as label mates Gold Zebra and Police Des mœurs.
Over the next few years the Brusque Twins aesthetic evolved into EBM & Techno territories with an emphasis on the physical aspect of performance and composition, with live shows
presented in pitch black with a single strobe light following their silhouettes
to the pounding rhythms.
Their last EP, TRASHBAG was the end result of these transformations. Their upcoming EP OBSESS is inspired by growing up in late 80s/ early 90s electronic music and rave culture.
