Following a sold out European tour, including an upgraded date at London's 1250-capacity Heaven, Massachusetts duo BOY HARSHER have shared a new video & announced new

European festival dates.

The video accompanies the steamy, hedonistic club track "Come Closer", taken from the band's new album 'Careful' which was released on the band's own label Nude Club Records back in February. It was directed by Muted Widows (Widow Brothers + Nedda Afsari) who

commented: 

 

"This is the first time we all (Michael R. Zumaya, Michael E Linn, and Nedda Afsari) collaborated on a project from start to finish, and

Boy Harsher couldn't be a more perfect fit for us as our new

collective Muted Widows. For Come Closer, we explored

duality.

 

There are things within us that feel so familiar and, conversely, so different. At the end, both are integral parts of yourself. Our amazing crew and exceptional talent really came together to create something we're

extremely proud of. Furthermore, we're extremely flattered to

create the visuals for a stellar track."

With ‘Careful’, Boy Harsher's Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller use the medium of minimal electronics to create a compelling narrative of a deteriorating family and the reaction to run

away from it. The record plots its time between songs that study the trauma embedded

within loss, and the compulsion to flee. 

 

If their previous releases, EP ‘Lesser Man’ (various pressings on Soft Science/Night People/Aufnahme + Wiedergabe/Nude Club) and LP ‘Yr Body is Nothing’ (various

pressings on DKA Records/Nude Club) narrated the pain and desperation that

follows after something goes awry, then this LP, ‘Careful’, describes what loves

gives you: fear and joy, tenderness and pain.

 

For Boy Harsher, ‘Careful’ attempts to detail the enveloping trauma of loss combined with the fantasy of escape. The band expands upon the fine-tuned production developed in their last

EP ‘Country Girl’ (Ascetic House), but with plenty of nods to the fast tempo and grittiness

of ‘Lesser Man’.

The band are currently coming to the end of an extensive US tour, before returning to Europe for festival appearances this summer. Details below and more dates to be announced soon.
